FC Edmonton Prepare for 2015 Season

EDMONTON, AB (February 11, 2015) - FC Edmonton players, coaches and staff members alike are all looking forward to the start of the 2015 North American Soccer League (NASL) season. The season is one step closer to starting. On Feb. 23, the Eddies will be back on the training field.

While the club will be training at the Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre fieldhouse for the first few weeks, the team will be heading south for some much anticipated outdoor training sessions in the middle of March. This season, the club will be heading to Jacksonville, Florida for a three-week training camp.

"We opted to go to Florida this year for preseason," said FC Edmonton's head coach Colin Miller. "We're planning on it being a bit of an adjustment travelling from cold to hot and an indoor facility to an outdoor field - but everyone knows what's coming and they have already started to prepare for it."

The team will head down to Florida on March 15 where it will train for several days before taking part in a four-team NASL Challenge tournament with newcomers Jacksonville Armada FC, Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Tampa Bay Rowdies.

"We have three very high level games lined up for us in the NASL Challenge," said Miller. "It will give us a great opportunity to see the Florida teams right away since they have all had an impressive offseason."

FC Edmonton will take on Fort Lauderdale Strikers and the Tampa Bay Rowdies on March 25 and 28 - the Eddies match against Jacksonville Armada FC will take place behind closed doors on March 21.
