Louisville Fire News Release
Fire fullback/linebacker Demetrius "the Freight Train" Forney was named US Army Ironman of the Week by the arenafootball2 league office today. Forney (6'0, 275, Campbellsville) led the Fire's offense last week against Albany with a team record five rushing touchdowns, Forney also tied the af2 record for most rushing touchdowns in a game and established a league high for rushing touchdowns in a game for the 2005 season.
Forney, who had been playing OL/DL most of the season, returned to his natural position of FB/LB last week against Albany and truly was an Ironman. On defense he totaled 5.0 tackles (3UA-4AT), one tackle for loss, one forced fumble and one sack. Offensively Forney rumbled 21 yards for the game winning touchdown in overtime to give the Fire a 61-55 lead.
