Former Vipers coach Kevin Guy, QB Matt Sauk now af2 Hall of Famers

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Arenafootball2 announced its first Hall of Fame class Monday and the Tennessee Valley Vipers were well represented.

Former Vipers coach Kevin Guy and former quarterback Matt Sauk were among a class of 10 that included four players, three coaches, two owners and one at-large contributor.

Guy coached the Vipers from 2002-04, was af2's Coach of the Year in '03, and compiled an overall record of 40-12 with three straight division titles before moving on to Rio Grande Valley in '05. His overall 52-19 record and .732 winning percentage ranked No. 1 all time before he accepted an assistant position at San Jose in '06 and he became the head coach of the Arizona Rattlers in '08.

Sauk played in 32 regular season games for the Vipers in 2001 and '03, throwing for a team record 86 touchdowns and 4,185 yards as a rookie and later 84 touchdowns and 4,098 yards while receiving All-af2 Second Team honors both seasons. He went on to a record-breaking season at Louisville in 2005 with 99 touchdown and 4,489 passing yards and ranks among af2's all-time leaders with 14,913 and 360 during his career.
