Former University of Alabama Kicker Signs with Maulers

Brian Bostick, University of Alabama kicker (2000-2004) has signed a letter of intent to play for the Montgomery Maulers of the National Indoor Football League.

Bostick earned three (3) varsity letters at the University of Alabama after red shirting in 2000. He played in eight games for the Tide in 2002. Starting in two games that year Bostick hit 75% of his field goals and started in five games as kickoff specialist. In 2003 he earned the starting position for Alabama starting in all 13 games. He had a season long field goals of 47 yards against Tennessee and Arkansas and scored three field goals against Tennessee. In 2003 Bostick had an overall record of 16 of 24 field goals and 33 of 37 extra points. That was just a warm up for his senior year at Alabama. Bostick was successful on 84.2% of field goals scoring 48 points and perfect on extra points (35 for 35). He had the highest field goal and extra point percentage in the SEC. His honors included SEC Special Teams Player of the Week, Lou Groza Award Semifinalist, First Team AP All-SEC Place Kicker, First Team Rival.com All-SEC Place Kicker and First Team Coaches All-SEC Place Kicker.

Leading the recruiting efforts for the Montgomery Maulers are Assistant Head Coach Mike Williams and Defensive Coach Carlos Clayton. "Our special teams have been solidified with the addition of Brian Bostick." said Williams.

The Maulers will begin their second season in the NIFL in March 2006. The new schedules will be available early in December. The Maulers play at Garrett Coliseum with main offices in Eastdale Mall.
