Former Sky Sox Player Mike Coolbaugh Mourned

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The following statement from the Colorado Springs Sky Sox Baseball Club is in response to the tragic death of Tulsa coach and former Sky Sox player Mike Coolbaugh.

"Our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the Coolbaugh family and all those people who were touched by Mike throughout his life," said Tony Ensor, Sky Sox President and General Manager. "The baseball family has lost one of their own and we all grieve at this difficult time."

In remembrance of his passing, the Sky Sox will fly the flags at the stadium at half mast and will observe a moment of silence before the start of tonight's game against the Iowa Cubs.

Coolbaugh played for the Sky Sox in 1998 and in 108 games he batted .277 with 16 home runs and 75 RBI. That season, he also led the team in doubles (35) and extra base hits (53).

The Tulsa Drillers Baseball Club and Spirit Bank in Tulsa, Okalahoma have set up a memorial fund to benefit the Coolbaugh family. Check can be made payable to the Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Fund and sent to:
