Orlando Predators News Release
Former Orlando Predator Kenny McEntyre has been added to the Arena Football League's list of 25 Greatest Players in AFL History, coming in at No. 13.
After spending two years playing overseas in NFL Europe, McEntyre signed with the Predators in 1998, helping lead the team to that year's ArenaBowl XII victory over rival Tampa Bay Storm. He went on to spend 12 seasons with the Predators, being named Defensive Player of the Year three times, the only player in League history to accomplish that feat.
McEntyre finished his career in 2011 with 96 regular season interceptions, an AFL record that nearly doubles the second-highest career interceptions total of 50. He has also recorded more career picks than the NFL and CFL records, coming in at 81 and 87, respectively. Known to his fans as "The Glove," McEntyre retired as an eight-time All-Arena honoree, a First-Team selection on the AFL's 15th Anniversary Team and winner of the AFL Pulse Award in 2011 for his charity work and service in the Orlando community.
Orlando's Arena Football League franchise since 1991, the Orlando Predators are entering their 21st year in the AFL. In that time, the Predators have advanced to the AFL Playoffs a league-leading 19 consecutive seasons and appeared in the Arena Bowl seven times, winning AFL Championships in 1998 and 2000.
