Orlando Predators News Release

Orlando, FL - Former Orlando Predators WR/DB Barry Wagner has been named the No. 1 Greatest Ironman in AFL History. The Arena Football League's Silver Anniversary Committee has released the list of the Top 25 Ironmen in AFL History in honor of the League's 25th Anniversary.

Wagner joined the Predators as a rookie in 1992 and spent eight seasons with the team, including an ArenaBowl championship in 1998. He won the Ironman of the Year award an unprecedented six years in a row (1992-1997), and starting in 1993, he began a streak of seven consecutive seasons with 1,000 receiving yards and 20 touchdown catches.

Wagner holds a number of AFL records, including being the all time leader in points scored (2,490), touchdowns (410), most postseason receiving yards (2,228) and most forced fumbles (28). He also ranks second in AFL history in career receiving yards (13,363).

Wagner is perhaps most well known for orchestrating what has become known as the "Miracle Minute." In a 1992 game against the Detroit Drive, Wagner scored two touchdowns, caught a game-winning two-point conversion, recovered an onside kick and made the game-saving tackle to secure the win for the Predators, all in the final minute of the game.

Orlando's Arena Football League franchise since 1991, the Orlando Predators are entering their 21st year in the AFL. In that time, the Predators have advanced to the AFL Playoffs a league-leading 19 consecutive seasons and appeared in the Arena Bowl seven times, winning AFL Championships in 1998 and 2000.
