Joyce was also a member of the National Football League's St. Louis Rams during the 2010 offseason and training camp, and began his professional career as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings in 2008.

Joyce participated in Locos training camp in 2010, but was released due to injury prior to the start of the regular season. In recent months, Joyce had been going through a rehabilitation process.
