Former Cyclones Advance

September 10, 2008 - Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) - Twin City Cyclones News Release

Mark Richards, Head Coach and General Manager of the Twin City Cyclones, is announcing the advancement of former Cyclones Kevin Druce, Daryl Moore, Jason Cassells, Adam Gebara, Ryan Bartle, and Justin Schmit.

"We are very proud of all the guys. Their advancement continues to prove our organization's commitment of promoting our players to higher levels," remarked Richards.

Kevin Druce, goaltender for the Cyclones during the 2007-08 season, will be joining the Odessa Jackalopes of the Central Hockey League (CHL). Druce appeared in 28 games last season and averaged a 0.884 save percentage. His accolades include being named the SherWood Player of the Week last season.

Daryl Moore, who has spent the last two seasons with the Cyclones, will be heading to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the CHL. Moore played in 52 games and posted 72 points for the Cyclones last season. He also received many League honors, including being named to the SPHL's First Team as an All-Star. Moore will be joining one of his former college coaches at Rio Grande.

Jason Cassells, assistant captain for the Cyclones during the 2007-08 season, will be playing in Europe for the upcoming season. Cassells appeared in 52 games and posted 62 points last season.

Adam Gebara has also elected to play in Europe. Gebara played in 48 games and added eight points for Twin City.

Ryan Bartle appeared in 40 games and racked up 135 penalty minutes during the past season with the Cyclones. He will be joining Rocky Mountain in the CHL.

Justin Schmit will also be heading to the CHL with the Tulsa Oilers. Schmit came to the Cyclones later in the season and posted 35 penalty minutes in the seven games he played in.

Chad Swartzentruber and Donald Melnyk, two players that the Cyclones acquired in the off season, will also be joining the CHL. Swartzentruber will join Moore with Rio Grande and Melnyk will head to Wichita.
