Utah Blaze News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze have agreed to terms with rookie OL Jermarcus "Yoshi" Hardrick, the franchise announced today. A massive offensive tackle from the University of Nebraska, Hardrick lands with the Blaze after participating in training camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"Yoshi is among the most impressive offensive linemen that I've ever watched on film," said Head Coach Ron James. "He's truly a physical specimen, but I think what sets him apart is his effort. When you turn on the tape, Yoshi is constantly hustling and never gives up on a play. That's the kind of guy we want protecting our quarterback."

Hardrick (6-6, 320, Nebraska) played in three preseason contests with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent. "I'm excited to be a member of the Blaze," Hardrick stated. "I'm ready to come compete and play some football."

At the University of Nebraska, Hardrick anchored a dominant front wall that paved the way for one of the nation's most prolific offensive units. As a senior in 2011, he started all 13 games at offensive tackle and helped produced the nation's 16th-ranked rushing attack, as the Cornhuskers averaged over 215 yards per game on the ground.

The Batesville, Mississippi native arrived at Nebraska after a stellar two-year career at Fort Scott Junior College, where he was a two-time All-Jayhawk Conference selection.
