Former Rome Renegade and All AIFL Southern Conference defensive linemen John Bowman is enjoying an excellent start to his career with the Montral Alouettes in the Canadian Football League.
Bowman, who, set a new Rome Renegade record for sacks in a season with 9 in half a season with Rome this past season, got his first sack in game four against Winnipeg. He previously recorded one tackle for a loss in the Alouettes second game of the season against Hamilton. Bowman is a graduate of Wingate University in South Carolina and was a star with the Daytona Beach Hawgs in the National Indoor Football League in 2005 and received all league honors with the Rome Renegades of the American Indoor Football League in the season that just wrapped up.
Former Rome quarterback Marcus Brady, also an All Southern Conference performer this immediate past season, threw for touchdowns in each of the Alouettes two pre-season games but has yet to see action during the regular season. Brady, out of Cal State Northridge, threw for 35 touchdowns and more than 2000 yards in eight games with the Renegades during the 2006 season before joining Montreal.
Another former Renegade, lineman Dwayne Morgan is still under contract with the Edmonton Eskimo's of the CFL but is not on the active roster at this time due to a knee injury.
