HAMILTON, ONT. - Forge FC of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) announced today that the club has signed Canadian midfielder Anthony Aromatario to a multi-year Standard Player Contract.
Aromatario, 22, signed with Forge earlier this year on a CPL-U SPORTS contract following a Short-Term Player Contract in February ahead of the club's Round One series in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup. The midfielder appeared in both matches against Liga MX side Tigres UANL, playing 119 minutes across the two legs.
Prior to joining Forge, Aromatario played the 2025 U SPORTS season with the York University Lions. In his first year with the program, he appeared in 14 matches and recorded two assists while helping York capture the OUA silver medal and the U SPORTS national championship. He was also named an OUA Second Team All-Star.
Aromatario developed through the Premier Soccer Leagues Canada pathway, featuring in the Ontario Premier League (formerly League1 Ontario) with North Toronto Nitros in 2024 before a standout 2025 campaign with Woodbridge Strikers SC. He played a central role in Woodbridge's provincial championship season and was named the league's Most Valuable Player. Earlier in his career, he also gained international experience with Tre Fiori FC in San Marino and Viterbese Primavera in Italy.
In addition, Forge has also signed defender Noah Bickford to a Short-Term Replacement Contract for the club's home opener on April 4.
Bickford, 21, was previously signed to a Short-Term Player Contract in February ahead of the team's Round One Concacaf Champions Cup match against Tigres UANL. The native of Milton, Ont., plays for Toronto Metropolitan University. Selected eighth overall in the first round of the 2026 CPL-U SPORTS Draft, he previously competed in NCAA Division I with Oakland University and has played in Ontario Premier League (formerly League1 Ontario).
Forge FC opens its 2026 Canadian Premier League season at home on Saturday, April 4 at 12 p.m. ET against Atlético Ottawa. Tickets are available here.
