Cleveland Force News Release

CLEVELAND, OHIO- The Cleveland Force will conclude their home stand this Saturday February 15th at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University this weekend when the Force play host to the San Diego Sockers in a Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) game. The contest is scheduled to begin at 7:05p.m.

Come out and celebrate "World Soccer Night" this Saturday at the Convocation Center. Club, countries and worldwide soccer sponsors will be giving away gear and merchandise. World Soccer night is sponsored by Eurosport, Rolling Rock, Snickers, Bayer, Play Sports, Adidas along with Italy, Germany, Argentina and the other world soccer powers.

The game between the Force and Sockers will mark the fifth and final meeting between these two teams. The Force leads the series 4-0 with an average margin of victory of 5.5 points. The last time these two teams met was back on January 31st in Cleveland, as the Force prevailed 15-10.

Cleveland enters the final game of the home stand with a record of 1-3; ironically enough the only Force victory came against the Sockers. The Force dropped its only game this past weekend 13-8 to the Baltimore Blast. The Force is currently in second place in the Eastern Conference. Both Harrisburg and Baltimore trail Cleveland by only one game. The remainder of the season for all three teams will have an impact on the final two-playoff spots in the conference.

San Diego comes into this weekends non-conference match dropping both games it played this past week. On Thursday February 6th, the Sockers welcomed the Harrisburg Heat into the San Diego Sports Arena and couldn't contain the Heat, losing by the score of 21-10. On Saturday February 8th, the Sockers dropped a Western Conference match on the road at the Bradley Center as the Milwaukee Wave defeated them 17-9.

The game can be heard live on WHK 1220 AM in Cleveland and WHKW 1440 AM in Warren or worldwide on the Internet at www.thesportsking.com.
