Force set to play back-to-back weekend

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Cleveland Force is set for its first of nine home and road back-to-back weekend contests this weekend when the team will take on the Kansas City Comets on Friday, February 4 at the Wolstein Convocation Center. The Force will then hit the road on Saturday, February 5th when they will travel to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the MISL leading Philadelphia KiXX.

Both games can be heard live on WHK 1420 AM or 1440 AM in Warren/Youngstown or live worldwide on the Internet at www.thesportsking.com. Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 7:35 and is University Hospitals Health System Antonio Sutton Bobblehead Night while Saturday's contest will start at 7:05.

The Force enters the contests with a record of 7-10 overall, 4-5 at home and 3-5 on the road. Cleveland dropped an 8-2 decision to the Baltimore Blast last Saturday night. The Force currently is tied for seventh place in the MISL Standings along with the Chicago Storm four games behind the KiXX and the Steamers in first place and 1.5 games behind the Comets for the fourth and final playoff spot.

Cleveland fell to Kansas City in a close game by a final score of 8-7 against December 3. Friday's contest will mark the second of six meetings this season between the two squads. The Force is led by defender Rene Rivas in the season series with three points on three assists while the Comets are lead by three players with two points apiece.

Kansas City enters the contest with an 8-8 overall and 4-5 on the road. The Comets fell to the Steamers by a final score of 11-5 on Wednesday night. Kansas City is in fourth place in the MISL 2.5 games out of first and 1.5 games behind the Milwaukee Wave for third place.

Cleveland and Philadelphia are tied in the season series with a record of 2-2. Saturday's game will mark the fifth of eight meetings this season and the second of four meetings at the Wachovia Spectrum. The Force is led by forward Chris Handsor with five points on four goals and one assist in two of three games while the KiXX are lead by defender Pat Morris with seven points on six goals and one assists in three games.

Philadelphia will only play one game this weekend and enters the game with Cleveland with a record of 13-8 overall and 7-4 at home.
