Force Set for Weekend Action

CLEVELAND, OHIO- The Cleveland Force will be back on the road this weekend to participate in two Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) games. On Friday February 28th the Force will travel to Baltimore, Maryland to take on the Baltimore Blast in an Eastern Conference game set to begin at 7:35pm. Cleveland will then head to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to take on the Western Conference Champion, Milwaukee Wave. The game is scheduled to start at 2:05pm and will be televised on WUAB TV-43, The Block.

The game between the Force and Blast will be the fifth of six meetings between these two franchises. The season series is 3-1, in favor of the Baltimore. The last time these two squads met was earlier this month when the Blast traveled to the Convo and defeated the Cleveland 13-8.

The contest between the Force and the Wave will be the final contest of the regular season for these two teams. The last time they met was at the Convocation Center on February 5th, as Milwaukee needed extra time to post a victory. The season series between Cleveland and the Wave has been in favor of Milwaukee by a 3-1 margin. The Force posted its lone victory on December 14th by a final score of 14-13 at the Bradley Center.

Cleveland enters this weekend riding a two game winning streak. This past weekend, the Force dominated throughout the two games it hosted. On Friday Cleveland played host to the Harrisburg Heat and defeated them by a 16-8 margin. The Force invited the Dallas Sidekicks into the friendly confines of the Convocation Center and defeated them by a score of 10-8 in overtime on Sunday. Throughout the course of the weekend Cleveland never trailed, improving their record to a 15-14 mark.

Baltimore enters the game after defeating the Philadelphia KiXX on Wednesday afternoon in Philadelphia. With that win, the Blast snapped its two game losing streak as well as ending the KiXX home winning streak. Baltimore will be looking to participate in the post season, as it trails league leader Philadelphia by 9.5 games and Cleveland 2.5.

Milwaukee is coming into the weekend after splitting a pair of games. The Wave opened the weekend in Kansas City and dropped the game 10-6 margin. Milwaukee bounced back and defeated the Blast on their home turf by a final of 13-8.
