
Force Re-signs Leading Scorer Spicer

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH., October 21, 2002_The Grand Rapids Force, a member of United States Professional Volleyball (USPV), today announced the re-signing of outside hitter Betsy Spicer (Barrington, Ill., University of Illinois).
Last season, Spicer led Grand Rapids in scoring (2.73 ppg) and kills (2.3 kpg). Spicer finished tied for sixth in the league in kills, tied for eighth in service aces (0.2 apg) and tied for ninth in scoring. Spicer was also rated the second most proficient passer in the 2002 USPV playoffs (2.78 on a 3.00 scale).
Spicer was a two-time All-Big Ten Conference selection at Illinois.
Training camp for the Force begins Thursday, December 12. The Force plays its first home match on January 25 at the DeltaPlex.
