Georgia Force News Release

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA, June 28, 2005 - The Georgia Force announced today that the team has re-signed wide receiver/linebacker Chris Jackson through the 2007 season. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"Chris was a key contributor and a vital part in our success as a team this past season," said head coach Doug Plank. "I cannot say enough about what he brings to our team in terms of his leadership skills and his level of play and practice. For our team's continued success, it was important for us to re-sign the quality of player like Chris Jackson."

JACKSON (6-2, 215, Washington State), who was acquired in a trade with Grand Rapids mid-way through last season, stepped in to give the Force an added boost in their march to ArenaBowl XIX. He finished the season with 107 receptions for 1,366 yards and 29 receiving touchdowns and five rushes for 18 yards and three scores on the ground. Jackson contributed on special teams with 43 returns for 850 return yards and three touchdowns. On defense, he added eight tackles and two pass break-ups. A six-year veteran, he is one of the league's top players and last year earned the AFL's Iroman of the Week honor twice, Offensive Players of the Week once and was recognized as the AFL's Ironman of the Month for May.

Since his arrival to Arena Football, Jackson has caught more passes, gained more receiving yards and scored more touchdowns or points than any other player in the AFL. He has scored a touchdown in all but two games in his AFL career. Additionally, Jackson is the only player in AFL history to be named Rookie of the Year (2000) and then be named Offensive Player of the Year (2003).

The National Conference and Southern Division Champion Georgia Force concluded the 2005 season an AFL best-tying 13-6 record, which included a perfect 10-0 home record at Philips Arena, and an appearance in ArenaBowl XIX. Georgia Force 2006 season ticket packages are on sale now and can be reserved for $50. For more information, call 404-222-5777 or visit www.georgiaforce.com.
