Greenville Force News Release
GREENVILLE, SC (January 14, 2010) - Announcing their first signing of the year, the Greenville Force of the Southern Indoor Football League are proud to have re-signed their top quarterback from 2009, Andrew Webb.
After playing high school and college football as a quarterback, Andrew Webb (6'4 220, Presbyterian College) never gave up the idea of being a quarterback despite being initially signed by the Force as a wide receiver. After pushing the coaching staff, Andrew got his chance to start the third game of the season and never looked back.
In eleven games, Webb led the Force to one of the AIFA's top passing attacks and finished with a 7-4 record leading Greenville to within one game of reaching the playoffs in just their inaugural season. Andrew enjoyed a 2009 campaign where he passed for 2,393 yards and 38 touchdowns while also collecting ten rushing touchdowns. Behind Webb, the Force offense finished in the top five in many offensive categories including pass offense (216 yards/game) and total offense (242 yards/game).
Residing from Clinton, SC, Andrew currently teaches and coaches at Clinton High School for the varsity football team. As an assistant, Webb led the Clinton High football team to the 2009 South Carolina State 3A Championship title.
"Andrew is the type of player we are trying to continually attract to our organization," says Greenville Force President Tony Wells. "Not only is he a great football player, he is an even better role model for the youth in the community."
