
Force Introduce New Signees For 2010

GREENVILLE, SC (February 11, 2010) - The Greenville Force of the Southern Indoor Football League are proud to announce that they have signed former Clemson quarterback Woody Dantzler in hopes of bringing some excitement to the Force's offense for 2010.
Woodrow (Woody) Dantzler (6'0 205, Clemson) re-wrote the record books during his four years playing quarterback for the Tigers. Woody became the first quarterback in NCAA history to pass for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season (2001) earning him Hesiman Trophy consideration. He became only the third quarterback in history to pass for 5,000 yards and rush for 2,500 yards in his career and left Clemson the holder of 53 school records.
After finishing his collegiate career, Woody went signed as un-drafted free agent with NFL's Dallas Cowboys in 2002 before playing nine games with the Atlanta Falcons in 2003. After being released from the Falcons, he signed with the Frankfurt Galaxy of in NFL Europe prior to capturing championship glory with the AFL's Chicago Rush in 2006. Dantzler signed on with the AIFA's Harrisburg Stampede last season but did not play due to injury.
"We are happy with the talent level we are accumulating on the field for this upcoming year," says Greenville Force General Manager and Head Coach Tony Wells. "We want to be 150 times better than last year on and off the field and Woody helps bring a lot of excitement on and off the field for our club."
The Force also announced they re-signed lineman Amos Lamb, fullback Kelvin Session, defensive back Chris Jackson and kicker Graham Whitlock. Jackson finished 2009 with two interceptions and was the clubs leading kick returner last season despite only seeing action in three games. Session was second on the club in rushing while notching three rushing touchdowns.
