
Houston Lightning Set For Tryouts This Weekend

Houston, TX - The Lightning, Houston's newest and only Professional Indoor Football Team, is looking forward to a huge turnout at this weekend's first tryout.
The phones have been ringing off the hook and the online registrations have been coming in all week in anticipation of Saturday's tryouts. With all positions still open for the 2010 season, the response has been overwhelming.
Athletes from all around the Greater Houston Area are set to compete for a chance to become part of history when the Houston Lightning open the season against the defending SIFL champion Louisiana Swashbucklers on March 20th.
Tryouts will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Saint United Church, 350 Century Plaza Drive, Houston, TX 77073. This facility is one block north of Airtex and I-45N.
Each participant will be required to pay a $50 Registration Fee and will receive an official Houston Lightning tryout t-shirt. IMPORTANT: Those players that are not pre-registered should arrive no later than 8:30 AM.
All participants will be tested in the following: 40yd Dash, 20yd Pro Shuttle, Standing broad Jump, 185 / 225 Bench Press Repetitions, and position specific drills. Players should bring proper footwear for both indoor and outdoor testing.
