
Force Falls To Baltimore In First Game Of Back-To-Back Series

BALTIMORE, MD - The Cleveland Force traveled to Baltimore, Maryland to play the first game of a back-to-back weekend series with the defending Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) and Eastern Division Baltimore Blast. The Force was defeated by the Blast by a final score of 5-4 at the 1st Mariner Arena.
With the loss, the Force fell to 8-17 overall, 0-8, versus Eastern Division opponents, 0-4 in the season series and 3-9 on the road. With the victory, Baltimore improved to 19-8 overall and 5-3 versus Eastern Division opponents and 12-2 at home.
The Blast opened the scoring (1-0) when Lee Tschantret found the back of the net off the cross from Denison Cabral at 7:54 of the first quarter. Cleveland tied the game (1-1) when Braeden Cloutier hit a back heel to score the goal off the assist from John Ball at 14:46.
Baltimore regained the lead (1-2) when Danny Kelly scored the goal on a penalty kick at 2:49 of the second quarter.
The Force tied the game for the second time (2-2) when Ball scored the unassisted goal as he knocked the ball off of Blast goalkeeper Scott Hileman at 5:04 of the third quarter. The goal marked the 400th career point for Ball. Baltimore regained the lead (2-3) when Giuliano Celenza scored the unassisted goal at 13:56.
Cleveland tied the game for the third time (3-3) when Joel Bailey found the back of the net off the pass from Adam Guren at 3:28 of the fourth quarter. The Blast regained the lead (3-4) when David Bascome scored the restart goal off the pass from Celenza at 7:58. Baltimore added to its lead (3-5) when Tarik Walker stole the pass back and scored the unassisted goal at 8:04. The Force cut into the lead (4-5) when Vermilion resident Chris Dore scored the goal off the pass from Lee Edgerton at 13:09.
Cleveland will next play the second game of a back-to-back weekend series with the Blast on Sunday, February 22 at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University. The game can be heard live on WHK 1220 AM in Cleveland as well as 1440 AM WHKW in Warren or worldwide on the Internet at www.thesportsking.com starting at 3:05 p.m.
