MILWAUKEE, WIS. â The Cleveland Force traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the early portion of Saturday morning to play the Milwaukee Wave in a Major Indoor Soccer League afternoon game at the Bradley Center. The second in two days proved costly to the Force as they fell to the Milwaukee Wave by a final score of 16-6.
With the loss, Cleveland dropped its second straight game and fell to 15-16 overall. With the victory, the Wave improved to 23-6 overall, 13-2 at home and won the season series 5-1.
Milwaukee opened the scoring (0-2) when Joe Reiniger scored a two-point goal off the pass from Todd Dusosky at 7:45 of the first quarter. The Wave added to its lead (0-4) when Johnny Torres found the back of the net off the outlet pass and assist from Victor Nogueira at 8:32. Milwaukee closed out the first quarter scoring (0-6) when Todd Dusosky scored a two-point goal off the pass from Sipho Sibiya at 14:37.
The Wave increased their lead (0-8) when Todd Dusosky scored his second goal of the game off the pass from his twin brother Troy at 3:30 of the second quarter. The Force snapped an 8-0 run by Milwaukee (2-8) when Kiley Couch stole the ball and scored an unassisted two-point goal at 9:02.
Cleveland cut into the lead (4-8) when Chris Stathopoulos scored a two-point goal off the assist from John Ball at 4:24 of the third quarter. The Wave responded (4-10) when Sibiya found the back of the net off the pass from Pat White at 5:35. Milwaukee kept up the scoring attack (4-12) when Greg Howes scored a two-point goal off the cross from Reiniger at 8:49.
The Wave added to its lead (4-14) when Torres scored his second goal of the game at 2:48 of the final period. The Force got their final points of the game (6-14) when Lee Edgerton scored a power play goal off the assist from Steve Butcher at 11:22. Milwaukee closed out the scoring (6-16) when Brian Loftin scored an unassisted two-point goal at 11:33.
Cleveland will next travel to Dallas, Texas to face the Dallas Sidekicks on Tuesday, March 4th at Reunion Arena.
