
Force Drops First Game Of Season To Wave

MILWAUKEE, WIS. - The Cleveland Force traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and were defeated by the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Central Division Milwaukee Wave x8-5 tonight at the U.S. Cellular Arena.
With the loss, the Force fell to 2-1 overall and 0-1 versus MISL Central Division opponents. With the victory, Milwaukee improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 versus MISL Eastern Division Opponents.
Cleveland opened the scoring very fast (1-0) when Lee Edgerton scored the goal off the first assist of the season for goalkeeper Otto Orf just 21 seconds into the game. The Wave tied the game (1-1) when Marcelo Fontana found the back of the net off the pass from Todd Dusosky at 3:14.
Milwaukee took its first lead of the game (1-2) when Greg Howes nailed a shot from about 60 feet away and found the back of the net for the unassisted goal at 5:00 of the second quarter. The Wave added to its lead (1-3) when Michael King was wide open and found the back of the net from 10 feet away off the pass from Matt Stewart at 5:38. The Force ended a 3-0 run by Milwaukee (2-3) when Edgerton scored the left footed goal off the second assist of the game form Orf at 7:58. Cleveland tied the game for the second time (3-3) when Adauto Neto passed the ball off the wall back to himself and then beat Wave goalkeeper Nick Vorberg for the unassisted goal at 9:42. Milwaukee regained the lead (3-4) when Matt Schmidt scored the goal off the second assists of the game for Todd Dusosky at 12:55.
The Force tied the game for the third time (4-4) when Justin Evans found the back off the net off the assist from Hector Marinaro at 3:41 of the third quarter. With the assist, Marinaro has now scored at least a point in 60 straight games. Cleveland regained the lead (5-4) when Nevio Pizzolitto scored the restart and his first goal of the season off the first assist of the season for Braeden Cloutier at 13:01. The Wave tied the game for the fourth time (5-5) when King scored the unassisted goal at 14:42.
Milwaukee regained the lead (5-6) when Howes scored the power play goal off the assist from Troy Dusosky at 11:47 of the fourth quarter. The Wave added to their lead (5-7) when Todd Dusosky found the back off the net off the assist from former Force forward Giuliano Oliviero at 12:29. Milwaukee scored a goal (5-8) against the sixth attacker when Joe Reiniger scored off the pass from Todd Dusosky at 14:05
Cleveland will open its 2003-04 home schedule on Saturday, November 1 when the team takes on the MISL Central Conference Milwaukee Wave at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University in the second game of a home and home series.
