Cleveland Force News Release

PITTSBURGH, PA. -- 2004 Force draft pick and Pittsburgh Riverhounds forward Said Ali defeated the Long Island Rough Riders in an United Soccer League Pro Soccer game on Sunday by a final score of 2-0.

Up until the final minutes, the game looked like a draw. Long Island kept Pittsburgh off-guard with their 4-5-1 formation for a while, but two late goals were scored giving Pittsburgh the win. Ali's goal was in the 83rd minute. With the win, Pittsburgh improved to 8-2-1 and stretched their winning streak to five straight games.

Ali scored his goal from ten yards out. The assist came from fellow forward, Granit Caushaj. Just a short three minutes later Ali passed the ball to Caushaj who dribbled around Long Island's goalkeeper to score the team's second goal of the game. The two players complemented each other nicely with their assists and goals.

Ali, a rookie out of Robert Morris, has recorded seven goals and added two assists for a total of 16 points in 10 games. Said ranks among the leaders in the Pro Select League as he is fourth in points (16) and tied for fourth in goals scored (7).

Pittsburgh will look to win its sixth straight game when the team travels to West Virginia to take on the West Virginia Chaos on Friday, June 25. The game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
