
Force Continues Road Trip On West Coast

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Cleveland Force will look to start the season 2-0 for the first time since the 1996-97 season when the team travels to San Diego, California on Friday, October 24 to take on the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Western Conference San Diego Sockers at the San Diego Sports Arena. Game time is scheduled for 10:00 p.m.
Cleveland enters the game after defeating the Dallas Sidekicks 6-5 in Cleveland's season opener on Sunday night. San Diego comes into the contest with a record of 0-2 after dropping its first two games to the Philadelphia KiXX and Milwaukee Wave at the San Diego Sports Arena.
Last season, the Force outscored the Sockers 66-42 in the five meetings. San Diego out shot Cleveland 174-147 while the Force tallied 97 saves to 65 for the Sockers. On the power play, Cleveland went 2-4 (.500) while San Diego was 4-9 (.444).
Midfielder John Ball, who recorded 13 points last season, leads the Force returnees in scoring versus the Sockers. Midfielder Justin Evans tallied eight points while Hector Marinaro and Lee Edgerton each netted seven points in the series.
Of the group returning for San Diego, forward Mariano Bollella recorded seven points in the season series. Matt Johnson tallied six points while Robbie Aristodemo, Kevin Sakuda and Mark Ughy all finished with seven points.
Catch all the action on WHK 1220 AM or WHKW 1440 AM in Warren. The game was originally scheduled to air on WKNR 850 AM, Radio Home of the Force, but will be preempted.
