Cleveland Force News Release
Cleveland Force acquired the rights to midfielder Andrew Gregor from the Milwaukee Wave's protected player list for financial considerations. The Force then signed Gregor to a two-year plus an option year contract.
Gregor, 27, made Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) on Saturday against the Philadelphia KiXX. Gregor played his second season with the Seattle Sounders this past summer along with Force teammate Zach Scott. In 25 games with the Sounders this summer, Gregor scored nine goals while adding three assists and was named first-team All-A-League. In 2000, Andrew started 21 of 25 games for Seattle and tallied seven goals adding five assists. In the 2000 playoffs, Gregor tallied one goal in three games.
FORCE ALL-STAR NAMED TECHNICAL DIRECTOR:
Cleveland Force All-Star forward Hector Marinaro in addition to his playing duties was named Technical Director on Friday, November 15th
Marinaro, the all-time leading scorer in indoor soccer history with 2,723 points, is in his 15th season in a Cleveland uniform. Marinaro began his career in Cleveland with the original Force in the 1983-84 season and has spent the last 13 seasons as member of the current franchise. Hector is a 10-time first-team All-Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) selection, six-time MISL Most Valuable Player (MVP) award winner, 13-time All-Star selection and a 10-time team MVP honoree.
TRAINING SESSIONS:
The Cleveland Force will be holding two off-site training sessions. The sessions will consist of a 45-minute full team training followed by a 15-minute autograph session.
The first of two sessions will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at Lost Nation Sports Park located in Willoughby from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The second session will be held on Tuesday, December 17th at Pinnacle Sports located in Medina.
WINTER CAMPS:
The Cleveland Force will be holding two Winter Camps at Cleveland Metroplex located at 18909 South Miles Parkway in Warrensville Heights.
The first camp will be the Thanksgiving Camp that will be held on Friday, November 29th from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The camp is open to kids ages five to 14 and the cost of the camp is 40 dollars.
The second camp will be the Holiday Camp, which is a two-day camp on Thursday, December 26th and Friday, December 27th from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon each day. The camp is open to kids ages five to 14 and the cost of the camp is 95 dollars.
Each camper who attends either camp will receive a free ticket to a Force game.
OCTOBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH:
Goalkeeper Jim Larkin was named the Zarzour Nissan October Player of the Month at Saturday's game. Larkin, who posted a record of 3-2 in the month, recorded 78 saves while facing 101 shots for a .772 save percentage. Jim also had a season-high 20 saves in a 15-4 win over the San Diego Sockers on October 25th.
Larkin was named the MISL defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 20th as well as the Tops Sensational Player of the Game on two occasions.
Larkin also recorded his 1,000th career save during October when he stopped his 10th shot in a 10-8 win over the San Diego Sockers on October 18th.
FORCE PLAYERS CONTINUE STREAKS:
Cleveland forward Hector Marinaro extended his scoring streak last week when he recorded his first of three goals in last Saturday's loss to Philadelphia. Marinaro has now scored at least a point in 50 straight games and 82 of the last 83 games. He has also tallied a point in 189 of the last 192 games.
Force defender Kiley Couch also continued his consecutive game streak as he has now appeared in 52 straight MISL games. Couch was just one of two players to appear in every game last season.
POST-GAME HEADQUARTERS:
Harveys at the Cleveland Hilton Garden Inn is the official post-game headquarters of the Cleveland Force. After every home game, Force players will be in attendance to talk with fans as well as sign autographs. The Hilton Garden Inn is located at 1100 Carnegie Avenue just minutes away from the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University between the Convo and Jacobs Field. The Force players will arrive at Harveys 30 minutes to 45 minutes after the conclusion of the game.
RADIO NETWORK:
Cleveland Force fans will be able to follow the club all season long on the Force Radio Network. All 36 regular season games, as well as all playoff games will be aired. The flagship station for Force Soccer is The WORD WHK 1220 AM. In addition, WHKW 1440 AM in Warren will broadcast all 36 games. The Sportsking.com will be streaming the broadcasts on the Internet.

The facility is located across from Thistledown Race Track on Northfield Road.
From the West: Take Route 480 East to Northfield Road Exit and take a left on Northfield. The soccer center will be a mile and half down on your right-hand side.
From the East: Take 480 West to the Miles Road Exit and take a right onto Miles. Proceed to Northfield Road and take a right; the practice center will be a mile down on the right.
