Football teams offer support to non-profit organizations

October 29, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Lakeland ThunderBolts News Release

LAKELAND, Fla. – Centurion Sports Management, LLC, the operating partner for Florida's three new National Indoor Football League franchises in Lakeland, Kissimmee, and Daytona Beach, is offering its support to any interested non-profit organizations.

CSM and it's three teams will be administering the NIFL's patented "National Sports for Education" program that provides a 100% profit fund raiser for schools and non-profit orgainizatons. The program matches, dollar for dollar, what sponsors spend with the football teams in the form of a "Dasherboard Bingo" card that is donated to schools or non-profit organizations which can then, in turn, be sold for $1 each providing a 100% profit fund raising opportunity.

Sponsors will receive an "Act of Donation" receipt for their support of both the football franchise and the charitable organization. League wide last season, the NIFL and its member teams raised over 18 million dollars for schools and non-profit organizations. That number will increase this season with the addition of at least six NIFL expansion franchises. CSM expects to raise over $400,000 in each of it's three franchise cities each season.

"This is a completely unique program," said CSM President Anthony Pewonski. "We're here to be a benefit to our cities not just on the field but in the community as well. With the help of our sponsors, we're going to make a significant contribution to the people who need it most."
