
Fog Devils prepare for CHL Import Draft

The St. John's Fog Devils are preparing for the club's first ever European Import Draft to be held on Wednesday.
The Import Draft sees all 58 Canadian Hockey League teams participate in a 2-Round Draft allowing the teams to select eligible European players. Each CHL/QMJHL team is allowed up to a maximum of two non-North American players on its roster and these players must be drafted through the Canadian Hockey League Import.
The Fog Devils have the 2nd Overall selection in this year's draft as well the 60th Overall selection. The Import Draft is done via telephone and teams are given a time slot to select their pick. The Import Draft beings at 10:30amNST and the Fog Devils will make its first pick at 10:45amNST.
Players selected will be eligible for this year's Training Camp.
The Fog Devils open its first Training Camp in Newfoundland on Tuesday, August 16. Details of the Newfoundland Selection Camp and the Evaluation Camp will also be released at a later date.
The St. John's Fog Devils are the newest member of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and are one of 58 member clubs of the Canadian Hockey League. The franchise begins its inaugural season in September 2005.
