FM Jets Renew Radio Deal

Fargo (ND) The Fargo-Moorhead Jets of the North American Hockey League announced today that KVMI 103.9FM "The Truck" will continue as the radio home of the FM Jets for the 2006-2007 season. KVMI 103.9 will broadcast every home and away game during the FM Jets' regular season and any playoff games they participate in.

This marks the third consecutive season that all of the FM Jets' regular season and post-season games have been carried on 25,000-watt, KVMI 103.9FM.

"We are thrilled to continue our partnership with KVMI for another season," said Randy Nielsen, the FM Jets' general manager. "KVMI has a strong signal and they have been great to work with in the past."

The FM Jets are one of only three teams in the 17-member NAHL to have all of their games broadcast on local radio, joining Southern Minnesota and Santa Fe. A handful of other teams in the league have a portion of their schedule carried on the airwaves.

Broadcasts will begin 20-minutes before the opening face-off with the "Countdown to Take-Off" Show, featuring previous game highlights and an interview with head coach Chad Johnson. Games will conclude with a 15-minute post-game show that will have highlights and the Three-Stars-of-the-Game.

All broadcasts will also be heard live on the Internet at fmjets.com, thanks to AudioSportsOnline.net. Additionally, each game will be archived and available for free for anyone to listen to at a later date.

Scott Montesano, 25, returns for his third season as the "Voice of the FM Jets." A native of Utica, NY, Montesano as been the lone play-by-play announcer in team history. In addition to his duties with the FM Jets, Montesano also works minor league baseball during the summer having spent the summer of 2006 with the Eau Claire (WI) Express of the Northwoods League.

The first broadcast of the season will coincide with the FM Jets' season opener Wed. Sept. 13 at 11am against the Traverse City North Stars at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN. Pre-game coverage will start at 10:40am

The FM Jets do have a pair of pre-season games this weekend at the Fargo Southwest Arena. On Friday night, the FM Jets take on Southern Minnesota, then on Saturday night they face North Iowa. Both games will start at 7:35pm. The pre-season games WILL NOT be broadcasted.

The FM Jets Junior A Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 31st year of operation. For more information, visit fmjets.com or call (701) 235-2354.
