BINGHAMTON - For just being public for a week, the Binghamton Indoor Football team has announced the inking of their s for the 2012 season. Defensive Back Rakiem Rowland joins other DB Hasan Stewart as the second player for the inaugural season for Binghamton Indoor Football.

The 6'2" 195 pound defensive ball hawk is a product of Mayville State University in North Dakota. Rakiem is a hard hitting player with a knack for finding the ball and making big plays. The goals he spoke of on the phone with Assistant General Manager, Chris Blake were those of optimism and focus. "My goals for this season are to win the division and make the playoffs. Once we make the playoffs I want to have a deep run and make it to the championship game."

He brings two years of indoor experience to the Southern Tier, having played with both the New Mexico Wildcats and the Yakima Valley Warriors. During the 2010 season while playing for the Yakima Valley Warriors, Rakiem was an American Indoor Football Association All-Star selection.

"I am very excited to play for the city of Binghamton. I can't wait to meet this community and get involved." said Rakiem in a phone call to the front office in Binghamton about his recent signing.

The Indoor Football League was created in 2008 from a merger between the Intense Football League and United Indoor Football Association. It consists of 27 teams (23 active, 4 dormant) located across the United States from Alaska to Richmond, VA.
