
Flying Tigers Earn 4-1 Win over Miracle

LAKELAND, Fla. (May 22, 2013) - The Lakeland Flying Tigers knocked off the Fort Myers Miracle, 4-1, on Wednesday night at Joker Marchant Stadium.
In the sixth inning, Dixon Machado broke a 1-1 tie with a one-out RBI single off Miracle reliever Adrian Salcedo. The Flying Tigers picked up a second run in the inning on an Aaron Westlake run-scoring double to give Lakeland a 3-1 lead.
Brandon Loy's RBI double in the seventh added an insurance run.
Miracle starter Taylor Rogers pitched five innings and scattered nine hits. Rogers had runners on base in every inning and stranded 10 while allowing just one run. In relief, Salcedo (3-1) tossed two innings and gave up three runs, two earned, on four hits.
Jeff Ferrell got the win for Lakeland going a season-high six innings and allowing just one run on five hits. Ferrell (1-3) stranded five and the Miracle left 10 on base over the game.
