Flyers sore over Silver Sox

The Orange County Flyers (8-3) pounded the Reno Silver Sox 17-6 with a barrage of homeruns at Peccole Park to win their fourth straight road game and solidify their first place position.

The Flyers cracked five homeruns including one in each of the first four innings. Mark Okano went deep twice to add to his team-leading total of six on the year. Jermy Acey, Jeff Larue and Buddy Morales hit the other round-trippers.

The Flyers bullpen pitched 6.1 scoreless innings of relief to settle down an 8-6 game after three innings. Charles Merricks earned the win in relief of Zack Kalter.

The Flyers also stole four bases and remain a perfect 14-14 stealing bases this season.

Orange County will look to finish their road trip in style at 7:05 p.m. Saturday night in Reno with ace Andre Simpson on the mound.
