Orange County Flyers News Release

The Orange County Flyers put together a great all-around performance in a 7-2 win over the Chico Outlaws at Nettleton Stadium to take game one of a six-game road trip.

It was the first game the Flyers have won outside of Southern California since the fourth game of the season. Daniel Arizmendi was dominant in his first start and earned the win to give Orange County three straight victories. The Flyers, now 3-4 in the second half, received six scoreless innings from Arizmendi, who struck out nine and gave up just five hits.

The Flyers offense provided two big innings in the 2nd and 4th. A four-run 2nd inning was capped by Scott Goodman's two-RBI single. Just two innings later, Bret Levier tripled in two runs as part of a three-run rally to give Orange County a 7-0 lead.

The Flyers also received three-hit games from Dave Bacani and Buddy Morales.

LF Johnny Coit starred defensively with an outfield assist and a game-ending diving catch.

The Flyers will play game two of this three-game series against the first-half champion Chico Outlaws at 7:05 p.m. on KWRM 1370 AM and www.orangecountyflyers.com.
