SCHAUMBURG, IL - The Flyers (24-40) beat the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (37-24) 9-7 Saturday night with an offensive onslaught at Alexian Field.

The Flyers took the early lead in the second when Ron Bourquin doubled with one out and scored after F-M left fielder Jay Cox threw the ball into the Redhawks dugout.

Schaumburg would tack on a couple more runs in the third. Both were driven in on a Ruddy Yan inside the park home run, the first inside-the-parker for the Flyers this season.

The RedHawks would not be outdone, as they would put up two runs in the fifth. Carlo Cota led off the inning with a double that was quickly followed up by a single by Kole Zimmerman. Cota would score on a Cory Patton groundout, while Zimmerman would score on a Mike Coles single.

The Flyers were able to get a run back in the fifth when Travis Brown doubled and was brought in on a Brandon Newton rbi single.

Fargo-Moorhead tied the game back up in the top of the sixth on a Jesse Hoorelbeke homer to deep left field that tied the game up at 4-4.

Schaumburg would take the lead right back in the bottom of the sixth for good. Bourquin reached on a one out walk and was eventually driven home by a Richard Mercado single. A Brown double would drive home both Mercado and Josh Burrus, pushing the Flyers lead to three.

The RedHawks would not say die, as they would tack on two more in the top of the eight bringing the score to 7-6 Flyers.

Schaumburg would answer back with two runs of their own extending their lead back to three runs at 9-6. The RedHawks would get one more in the ninth on a Nic Jackson home run, but that would be it.
