Florida's O'Donnell Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Brendan O'Donnell of the Florida Everblades is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for March 27-April 2.

O'Donnell scored three goals added six assists and was a +5 in three games against Kalamazoo last week.

The 24-year-old tallied one goal and two assists in each of his three games last week - a 6-2 win on Wednesday, a 7-5 loss on Friday and a 5-3 victory on Saturday.

A native of Winnipeg, O'Donnell is second in the ECHL with 39 goals and is seventh with 77 points. He has also appeared in six games this season with Texas of the American Hockey League.

Selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth round (156th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, O'Donnell has posted 114 points (56g-58a) in 111 career games with the Everblades.

Prior to turning pro, O'Donnell recorded 55 points (27g-28a) in 121 career games at the University of North Dakota.

On behalf of Brendan O'Donnell, a case of pucks will be donated to a Florida youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 35,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
