
Florida State League Names Pitcher & Player of the Week

The Florida State League named today the Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period May 19- May 25, 2014.
The Player of the Week is Tampa Yankees Infielder Dante Bichette, Jr. He played in eight (8) games and collected 10 hits for a .357 Batting average in 28 plate appearances. His hits included three (3) homeruns and one (1) double. He had 13 RBI's and scored five (5) times. His slugging average was .714 and his OBP was .406. Dante is in his fourth year of professional baseball and he resides in Orlando, FL.
The Pitcher of the Week was Lakeland Flying Tigers Lefthander Alex Burgos. He appeared in two (2) games, and in seven and two thirds innings, allowed one (1) hit and gave up one (1) walk for a 0.00 ERA. He struck out 10 batters. Alex is in his fifth year of professional baseball and he was born in Regensburg, Germany.
