SUNRISE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers will host their annual development camp in Orangeville, Ontario from Sunday, May 31 to Sunday, June 7, with 29 players scheduled to participate in the week-long experience. C Michael Frolik, D Keaton Ellerby, G Brian Foster, RW Shawn Matthias and RW Michal Repik are among some of the Panthers prospects who will participate in the camp.

"The development camp provides our staff a great opportunity to evaluate the progress that our prospects have made in the past year," Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin said. "This camp gives our prospects an opportunity to accelerate their growth and development process and assess where they rank among their fellow teammates in the development process."

Frolik, 21, a first round pick for Florida in 2006, finished tied for fifth among NHL rookies in goals scored (21) and tied for sixth among rookie leaders in points (45). He became just the third Panthers rookie to record at least 20 goals, while placing third on the club with 21 goals. Ellerby, 20, the Panthers first round choice in 2007, made his professional debut with the Rochester Americans (AHL) this season playing in 75 games registering 23 points (3-20-23).

Foster, 22, recently completed his junior season at the University of New Hampshire, posting an 18-10-4 mark with a .910 save percentage, backstopping his club to a berth in the NCAA tournament and being honored as the club's most valuable player for the 2008-09 season. Matthias, 21, played in 16 games for the Panthers this season registering two assists and also appeared in 61 games for Rochester (AHL) recording 20 points (10-10-20). Repik, 20 made his NHL debut with Florida on Dec. 8 at Ottawa, while also scoring his first NHL goal in that contest. He played in five games for the Panthers this year, scoring two goals.

All the players will participate in both on and off-ice training and they will attend seminars that discuss the importance of nutrition, mental skills and handling themselves as professional athletes. Tomas Pacina will direct the on-ice activities, with assistance from both the Panthers and Rochester coaching staffs. Andy O'Brien will handle the off-ice training and activities. Panthers General Manager Jacques Martin, Asst. GM Randy Sexton and Head Coach Pete DeBoer will also be on hand to evaluate the prospects.
