TODAY'S GAME: Rubber match of a three-game series against the St. Lucie Mets at First Data Field (1-1)...Game one of a six-game road trip against St. Lucie and the Tampa Tarpons (1-1)...Florida took two out of three against the Mets at Osceola County Stadium, April 17-19, and is 6-12 all-time against the New York Mets Advaced-A affiliate...The Fire Frogs finished 1-6 at First Data Field in 2017.

TODAY'S STARTING PITCHER: 22-year-old Jeremy Walker makes his seventh start of 2018 in the rubber match against the St. Lucie Mets on Thursday morning...The right-handed product from Gardner-Webb finished his 2017 season on a four-game winning streak for the Rome Braves (A-), going 3-0 with a 1.23era (4er/29.1ip) in the month of August with two complete games, and posting 19 strikeouts compared to just three walks...The 6'5" hurler allowed three runs (one earned) on six hits and four strikeouts in a loss to the Palm Beach Cardinals on May 3...The North Carolina native tossed a season-high 94 pitches, with 66 crossing the plate for strikes...Thursday will be Walker's second career start against the Mets...The 2016 fifth-round pick blanked St. Lucie across 4.2 on four hits, a walk and a strikeout in a no-decision at Osceola County Stadium on April 17.

FLORIDA FORCES RUBBER MATCH WITH TUESDAY WIN: The Florida Fire Frogs and St. Lucie Mets went back-and-forth through the early goings on Tuesday night, but the visitors came away with the 8-4 victory at First Data Field to force a rubber match on Wednesday morning.

Florida started the scoring with a three-run second, but St. Lucie responded with four runs of its own to take the lead in the bottom half of the frame. After neither team scored in the third, the Fire Frogs took advantage of two errors to start the fourth inning, paving the way to a four-run fourth to retake the lead.

Kyle Muller lasted four innings in his High-A debut, allowing all four of the Mets runs on six hits, five walks and four strikeouts on 86 pitches.

SALAZAR'S DOZEN: Alejandro Salazar extended his on-base streak to 12 games with a singles with a single in the sixth inning. The 21-year-old infielder is batting .395 (17-for-43) during the streak...The streak includes a team-best, eight-game hitting streak from April 25-May 4 (13-for-30).

COOL AS A CUCUMBER: Brett Cumberland singled in his second at-bat in second inning, extending the Cal product's on-base streak to 13 consecutive games....During the streak, the switch hitter is batting .250 (11-for-44), but he has drawn 11 walks...The 22-year-old leads the clubs with 15 walks on the season.
