Flores & Ramirez Receive FSL Weekly Honors

Tampa, Fla. - The Florida State League announced today that they have selected Tampa Yankees outfielder, Ramon Flores, as Player of the week, and Tampa Yankees pitcher Jose Ramirez, as Pitcher of the week for the period July 9 - July 15, 2012.

Flores played in five games and had seven hits in 17 plate appearances for a .412 batting average. His hits included one homerun, one triple, and three doubles. He also stole one base. His OBP was .412 and his slugging average was .882. He was signed by the New York Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on July 4, 2008. Ramon is in his fourth year of professional baseball and resides in Barinas, VZ.

This is the second time this season Ramirez has received the honor of being named Pitcher of the Week. He started one game on July 12th, recorded the win, and posted a 0.00 ERA. In six innings pitched, he allowed no runs, no hits, one base on balls, and recorded seven strikeouts. Ramirez combined with RHP Branden Pinder to no-hit the St. Lucie Mets that night. He was signed by the New York Yankees as a free agent on June 10, 2007. Jose is in his fourth year of professional baseball and resides in Yaguate, DR.
