
Flint Generals to hold open house on Tuesday

FLINT, MI - Hockey season is just over a month away and the Flint Generals, proud members of the IHL and AA affiliate of the Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings, want to get their fans in the spirit with a huge open house next Tuesday, Sept. 9th from 5 pm to 9 pm at Perani Arena and Event Center.
The open house features, entertainment, prizes, and fun for the whole family. It will be a chance for Generals' fans to get up close and personal with the Flint Generals' players and ask questions to the staff.
On the Arena Floor, fans can get autographs from Generals' forwards Steve Rymsha and John DiPace, as well Darren McCarty who won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Detroit Red Wings. A Revenance, a classic rock cover band from Clio will provide the entertainment. There will also be a Bounce House courtesy of Funtastic Inflatables for the children to play in. Face painting will be available from 'Here come the clowns featuring Gon' Fishin.' The Generals Merchandise store will be having a huge sale and there will be merchandise with the new logo on it.
"I want our players to be more involved with our fans and the community they live and work in," said Head Coach Peter South. "We want to do more activities and things to provide our fans with more value this season." The party will also be a great time for fans to look over the renovations to the parking lot at Perani Arena. The Perani Group has been encouraging the owners of the Arena in making some renovations to the facility in time for hockey season. The repaving of the parking lot is the first step that also includes improvements to the lobby and new glass in the main arena.
The Open House also features a Select-A-Seat party where fans who have yet to purchase tickets to look over seats and either buy season tickets, flex tickets or gift certificates for tickets and to put down deposits. A reminder to fans that Season Tickets and parking passes will not be available for pick up during the event.
