HUNTSVILLE, AL, JULY 10 â The Huntsville Flight will open its second season in the National Basketball Development League with a two-game road trip on Friday, November 15 against the Roanoke Dazzle and Saturday, November 16 against the Asheville Altitude. The Flight will open its home schedule on Thursday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m. CT/8:30 p.m. ET against the North Charleston Lowgators. The game kicks off a big sports weekend that includes the Iron Bowl on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The Flight's 2002-03 regular season schedule features 17 weekend games, including seven Fridays and 10 Saturdays, making games more accessible to fans.
The Flight's home opener vs. North Charleston renews an inaugural season rivalry that ended last season with a 96-91 Lowgators' victory to even the season series before a national TV audience on March 18 at the Von Braun Center. The Flight renews its I-65 series with the Mobile Revelers on Dec. 3 in Mobile. The Revelers make their first appearance in Huntsville in a post-holiday game on Dec. 27.
The Flight's 2002-03 schedule also includes several special events:
- On New Years' Eve, the Flight plays host to the Fayetteville Patriots at 11 p.m. CT/Midnight ET. Many fun and festive promotions are planned to ring in 2003.
- On Feb. 4 and 11, the Flight's School Days program continues with 11 a.m. CT/Noon ET games against the Mobile Revelers (Feb. 4) and Fayetteville Patriots (Feb. 11). Area students can take advantage of special ticket promotions for both Flight School Days games.
- On Feb. 14, the Flight hosts the Lowgators in a special Valentines' Day game.
- On Mar. 22 and 23, the Flight will close the season with Fan Appreciation Weekend.

The Huntsville Flight will also host a NBA preseason game between the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers on October 19, 2002 at the Von Braun Center. All full, partial and mini-season ticket packages purchased for the Flight's 2002-03 NBDL season will include an opportunity to buy the best seats available to this NBA preseason matchup. The Hawks' are led by Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Jason Terry and the 2002 NBA Draft's 28th overall selection Dan Dickau acquired in a draft-day trade with Sacramento. The Pacers' feature four-time NBA All-Star Reggie Miller, the NBA's Most Improved Player Jermaine O'Neal, rookie standout Jamaal Tinsley and the 2002 NBA Draft's 14th overall selection Fred Jones.
