
Flight Falls At Roanoke Saturday 73-67

ROANOKE, Va. (Mar. 8) â Mikki Moore and Terrence Shannon each collected double-doubles to lead Roanoke to a 73-67 NBDL victory over Huntsville here Saturday night at the Roanoke Civic Center.
A crowd of 4,809 saw Moore tally 18 points and 10 rebounds, while fellow Dazzle player Terrence Shannon record 10 points and 10 boards as they won for the third straight time over the Flight. Roanoke also got 14 points from Cory Alexander, while Jamal Robinson chipped in 13 in the victory.
The Dazzle (22-21) won despite shooting 34.3 percent from the floor compared to the Flight's 41.8 percent. Roanoke, though, took 15 more shots than the visitors courtesy of a 45-31 rebounding advantage â including 23-12 on the offensive end.
Huntsville, meanwhile, got a team-high 15 points from A.J. Guyton as he nailed 4-of-5 from 3-point range, including two late in the contest to cut the gap to four at 67-63 in the final two minutes.
The Flight (19-25) also had a chance to cut the gap with free throws down the stretch but converted only 3-of-8 in the final two minutes. The Dazzle's Alexander had no problems at the line as he made 3-of-4 in the final 16 seconds to help ice the contest. The Flight hit just 16-of-29 free throws for 55.2 percent, while committing 20 turnovers as well in the contest.
Lonnie Harrell added 11 points for the Flight, while Ike Nwankwo notched five points, four blocks and added a game-high 14 rebounds.
After trailing 38-33 at halftime, the Flight started the third period with a 6-0 run and led 39-38 but the advantage was short-lived. Shannon answered with a pair of free throws and the Flight trailed for the remainder of the game.
