Western New York Flash News Release
Elma, N.Y. - On June 23rd, the Western New York Flash will be racing into Sahlen's Stadium for their 4:05 p.m. meeting with the Seattle Reign. For a fourth year, the Flash have teamed with Watkins Glen International to host "A Pit Stop for Camp Good Days", with a number of events scheduled for the game day.
The first 500 attending fans that register at the Glen's table will receive two free tickets to Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen, held June 28-30 at Watkins Glen International.
The Flash will also be sporting specialty jerseys for the game, adorned with the Sahlen's Six Hours to the Glen and the Watkins Glen logos. Following the game, those jerseys will be raffled off with all proceeds donated to Camp Good Days and Special Times.
Fans ages 15 and under will also have the opportunity to participate in the halftime event, with registration information coming soon. In that event, the first 50 registrants will take to the field and try to kick a ball into the back of the Watkins Glen pace truck. Prizes will be awarded to all those who participate, with bonus rewards for fans who hit the target.
To kick-off the event, Watkins Glen President Mike Printup visited Sahlen Sport Park last week for a photo shoot with the Flash and the Official Watkins Glen pace car. Printup also played goalkeeper, taking shots from NWSL leading scorer Abby Wambach.
In conjunction with the June 23rd game, the Flash will travel to Watkins Glen for the race and will participate in autograph signing with the drivers. Abby Wambach will be the Grand Marshal for the race, while Carli Lloyd will be the official starter.
