Western New York Flash News Release

ELMA, N.Y. (Friday, July 17, 2015) - The Western New York Flash is excited to announce a partnership with Roswell Park Cancer Institute, who will now be the Official Cancer Center of the Western New York Flash.

"We are tremendously excited about our partnership with Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Roswell is a national leader in cancer treatment and research, and an organization we look forward to working with to build awareness within the Western New York community," said Flash Assistant General Manager Mike Cipolla. "Sahlen's has been a long-time supporter of Roswell's mission to understand, prevent and cure cancer, and we are happy that we are able to continue that support through the Flash brand."

"Our partnership with the Flash opens up opportunities for both engaging the community with important messages about cancer prevention, early detection and risk reduction and for raising funds for cancer research and patient-care programs," said Candace S. Johnson, PhD, President & CEO and Wallace Family Chair in Translational Research at Roswell Park. "The players and the whole Flash organization have been strong supporters of our mission for many years, and we're grateful to have them on the Roswell Park team."

Roswell Park, a comprehensive cancer center located at Elm & Carlton Streets in Buffalo, will have its logo on the Flash's pre-match training tops, which are worn before each home and away game. In addition, Roswell will be sponsoring the Flash's "Fan of the Game." Fans who attend 2015 home games are encouraged to send game-day photos to the Flash via Twitter. One lucky winner will be selected during each match and will be announced over social media.

Roswell Park will be featured on the front of the Flash's jerseys for this year's "Pink Game," which will be held on August 29 against the Chicago Red Stars. Those limited-edition jerseys will be autographed by all players and raffled off after the game, with 100% of proceeds going to Roswell. The raffle, like previous years, will also include baskets made by each Flash player as well as donations from local businesses and organization.

Tickets to the Pink Game, as well as all 2015 Flash home games, can be purchased online at wnyflash.com, by calling the Flash at (716) 655-PLAY or by contacting the Sahlen's Stadium Box Office at (585) 454-KICK.
