Flames Loan Seabrook to Moose in Exchange for MacGregor Sharp

The Manitoba Moose today announced they have acquired defenceman Keith Seabrook on loan from the Calgary Flames in exchange for centre MacGregor Sharp.

Seabrook, 22, has appeared in 48 games so far this season for the Abbotsford Heat, the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames. In that span, Seabrook has scored 20 points (4g, 16a) along with 18 penalty minutes. In his second pro season, the Delta B.C. has appeared in 126 AHL games with Heat, where he has scored 48 points (14g & 34a) and collected 71 penalty minutes. He also played in 12 Calder Cup playoff games with the Heat where he scored two goals and an assist as well as 30 penalty minutes. Seabrook was originally drafted by the Calgary Flames in the second round, 52nd overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Sharp, 25, was acquired by the Vancouver Canucks on Feb. 28/11, along with centre Maxim Lapierre in exchange for centre Joel Perrault and Anaheim's 3rd round pick in 2012. Sharp, who did not play a game for the Moose, has previously appeared in 50 games this season with the Anaheim Ducks AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. The Red Deer, AB native has recorded 13 points (6g, 7a) and 26 penalty minutes with the Crunch. Sharp has appeared in 96 career AHL games with Syracuse, San Antonio, and Iowa. The 6'1", 180-pound centre has played in eight NHL games with the Anaheim Ducks.
