FORT MYERS, Fla., Jan. 5 - According to an announcement by Head Coach Jeff Malone, the Florida Flame announced that the team has waived guard Ricky Shields.
The Flame's second round pick (ninth overall) in the 2005 NBA Development League Draft, Shields appeared in 12 games with Florida, averaging 3.5 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 10.6 minutes per game. The 6-4, rookie out of Rutgers ('05) shot 36 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from three-point range.
