IME HONORED: Fort Worth's Ime Udoka earned D-League Player of the Month honors for games played in December. The Flyers first pick (third overall) in the 2005 D-League Draft averaged 37.0 minutes, 19.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.8 steals while leading the Flyers to a 6-3 record in December.
JAZZ ASSIGNMENT: The Utah Jazz assigned guard C.J. Miles to the Albuquerque Thunderbirds on Wednesday, making him the 13th NBA player to be designated to a D-League affiliate. Miles, who was playing at Skyline High School in Dallas at this time last season, will suit up for the T-Birds for the first time at Fort Worth on Friday.
THEY SAID IT: It's just a good opportunity to get him some experience. [He will play for a coach, Michael Cooper] who knows what it takes to play in the league. It should be good for [Miles] as he develops." Utah Jazz Sr. VP of Basketball Operations Kevin O'Connor told the Salt Lake Tribune in regards to C.J. Miles' assignment to Albuquerque.
MORE MIDWEEK COMING AND GOING: Fort Worth acquired G Turner Battle and waived F Anthony Wilkins, while Fayetteville acquired G Melvin Sanders and waived F Mark Karcher. Florida waived G Ricky Shields.
