Five Players Added to Practice Roster

The Calgary Stampeders have added five American players to their practice roster - receiver Darren Andrews, running back Tim Flanders, linebacker Chase Middleton, offensive lineman Jordan Morgan and defensive lineman Mbi Tanyi.

For a one-month period every season, CFL teams are permitted to carry an additional five practice-roster players (15 instead of the usual 10 in addition to two spots for global players).

Flanders has played 19 career CFL games for Winnipeg and BC while the other four additions are all newcomers to the CFL.

Darren Andrews

Height: 5.10

Born: Aug. 5, 1995

Birthplace: Beverly Hills, CA

Andrews was signed by the National Football League's New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2018. In 40 games over four seasons at UCLA, Andrews had 161 receptions for 1,963 yards and 15 touchdowns. He added seven carries for 76 yards and one score, five punt returns for 34 yards and four kickoff returns for 81 yards.

Tim Flanders

Flanders played one game for BC in 2015 and 18 games for Winnipeg from 2016-18. He has 556 career rushing yards and four touchdowns and 43 catches for 352 yards and three scores. He also has eight career kickoff returns for 150 yards. Flanders was briefly a member of the Stampeders organization during the off-season leading up to the 2015 campaign.

Flanders completed his collegiate career at Sam Houston State as the school's and Southland Conference's all-time rushing leader with 5,664 yards and 66 touchdowns. Flanders was a three-time finalist for the Walter Payton Award as the most outstanding offensive player in Division I Football Championship Subdivision.

Jordan Morgan

College: Kutztown

Height: 6.04

Born: May 13, 1994

Birthplace: Philadelphia, PA

International

Morgan was selected by the Chicago Bears in the fifth round (147th overall) of the 2017 NFL draft. He has also spent time with the Tennessee Titans and New York Jets.

Morgan started in all 43 games over four seasons at Kutztown University. In his senior season, he helped Kutztown set a single-game record with 459 rushing yards and was the player in school history to receive the Gene Upshaw Award as the top lineman in Division II. He was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East first all-star team for three straight seasons.

Chase Middleton

College: Georgia State

Height: 6.01

Weight: 230

Born: Mar. 24, 1997

Birthplace: Lilburn, GA

International

Middleton signed with the NFL's Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in April and was released in May. He was then signed by the Atlanta Falcons and released on Aug. 31 after appearing in the team's final two pre-season games.

Collegiately,Middleton played 47 games in four years at Georgia State and was a two-year starter. He finished his Panthers career with 191 tackles, good for sixth in school history. The linebacker also recorded 8.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and six knockdowns.

Mbi Tanyi

College: Maryland

Height: 6.01

Weight: 283

Born: June 4, 1995

Birthplace: Houston, TX

International

Tanyi attended 2019 rookie mini-camps with the NFL's Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers. He played 39 games over four seasons at the University of Maryland and registered 69 tackles including four tackles for loss, two sacks and one knockdown. Tanyi started all 12 games as a senior in 2018.
