Five Owls Record Rbi's In Owls Win5

FOREST CITY- In front of a season high 3, 733 fans, the Forest City Owls scored in six different innings and defeated the HP-Thomasville Hi-Toms on Saturday night.

Hunter Bryant homered in the first and four other Owls drove in runs as a back and forth matchup came to an end with the Owls in front 8-6.

Forest City took a lead in the second and held a 4-1 lead going into the sixth before a couple errors and an RBI triple put the HI-Toms in front 5-4.

Maleeke Gibson led off the bottom half of the sixth with a single and eventually would come around to tie the game after a wild pitch. Two batters later Bryant would reach on an error driving in Owens to take the lead and would hold it the rest of the night.

Eric Cheray drove in Joey Hawkins on a sac fly in the seventh and the Owls would get one more in the eighth after Devin Wenzel doubled in Steven Pallares.

Matthew Smith started tonight for the Owls throwing five 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs (2 earned) on seven hits and struck out two before four relievers took the mound with Brock Goodling recording the final three to earn his seventh save of the year.

The Owls improved to 20-13 on the year and will play host to Chinese Taipei National Team on Monday night here in Forest City.
