
First-Team All-IFL DL D'Avanzo Re-Signs with Rattlers

PHOENIX - The six-time world champion Arizona Rattlers have re-signed defending first-team All-IFL defensive lineman Nik D'Avanzo for the 2021 Indoor Football League season.
DL Nikolaus D'Avanzo (6'3", 270, University of New Mexico) is entering his second season with the Rattlers. In 2019, D'Avanzo earned first-team All-IFL honors after leading the team with 14 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks, in addition to eight pass breakups. In 2017, D'Avanzo spent time with the Minnesota Vikings.
D'Avanzo attended the University of New Mexico where he played for four years. He finished with 198 tackles, 27.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, one forced fumble, and four fumble recoveries in 49 games.
The Baltimore native played high school football at Archbishop Curley High School. In 2012, D'Avanzo was a consensus All-State selection and a first-team Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association All-Conference selection on the defensive line. D'Avanzo finished the 2012 season with 58 tackles, 14 sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, an interception returned for a touchdown, and a blocked punt. He also played fullback, recording 114 carries for 664 yards and 10 touchdowns. D'Avanzo was also selected to and started in the Crab Bowl, Maryland's high school all-star game.
